Sort and Search Projects


Introduction

When planning resources for a project portfolio sorting and searching options for projects are a must. This is why you can sort your project portfolio in the project list alphabetically, by start or end date or by any of the custom data fields you have added.  

Must-know about this feature

If you sort projects in the project list, the order of them won't change in the resource view. You will learn how to sort projects in the resource view in the end of this article.
 

Sort projects in the project list

  1. Open the projects' list
  2. You can find the projects' list icon on the sidebar. 
  3. Click on data labels' titles to sort the projects
  4. You can sort project alphabetically, by start or end date or by any of the custom data fields you have added.

Search for a project in the project list

  1. Start typing the project title
  2. All the projects that have the search term in their title will appear.

Use the sorting and filtering options in the project list to open the project you need in individual views or to archive them.

Sort projects in the resource view

  1. Group your resources by projects You can do that using the grouping options.
  2. Choose the sorting option that you prefer You can sort by Project title (A-Z) or by any other 'Date' type project custom data fields like milestones

Sort projects in the resource view to have an eye on the milestones that are the closest or to view the tasks of the projects that are about to end before everything else.
