Copying Tasks

Introduction

There is no need to create a new Task and enter same parameters all over again. "Save as copy" function lets you copy a selected Task while giving you the freedom to change some Task details.

Must-know about this feature

When copying a Task, the new Task will have the same parameters as the initial one but they won't be linked, hence they are independent from each other.

Copy a Task

  1. Click on a Task
  2. This will open the Task Dialog.
  3. Click "Save as copy" on the right of "Save" icon
  4. A new Task will appear under the initial one.

  5. Change desired parameters
  6. You can change the Name, Project, Utilization, Data Fields etc.
"Save as copy" is a good function for you if you schedule the same Tasks for different Projects. You don't need it to recur, you just need the same thing to happen for a different project.
  7. Drag and Drop it to the Resource you want it to be assigned to
  8. Click on "Save" once you are done.

The two Tasks are not linked. Changing details of the copied Task will not affect the initial one and vice versa.
