Notes for Tasks


Introduction

Your team is able to add Notes to each Task to describe changes made or comment on issues. New (red) and past (blue) Notes total count is reflected via the Taskbar's visual notification icons. This feature is also available for Resources and Projects. 

Must-know About This Feature

Notes cannot be edited and are not available for Reports. If you need to get Notes to the Reports then use "Text" type Task Data Fields instead. Past Notes can be accessed in the Task's Notes section. New Task Notes (red) and total Task Notes (blue) are indicated via visual notifications on the Taskbar. Click on the notification icons for direct access. Total Task Notes (blue) notification can be disabled for the entire account via Settings > Taskbar > Note icon. New Task Notes (red) notification cannot be disabled. Notes cannot be edited. Only admin users are able to delete Notes. 

Insert and View Task Notes

  1. Click on a Task
  2. This will open the Task dialog.
  3. Click on "Notes"
  4. This will open the Notes dialog.
  5. Type in a Note and click on "Add note"
  6. The Note along with the time it was added and the User will appear on the right.

Inside the Note icon you will see a counter that indicates how many Notes have been added to the Task. The blue Taskbar notification icon displays the same information (see next chapter below).

    Visual Notifications for Task Notes

  • Click on the Notification icon
  • This will open the Notes dialog of the Task.

    The red icon counts new Task Notes, blue one counts the total number of Task Notes. The red icon will turn blue after opening the Notes section. The blue/total count notification can be disabled for the entire account via Settings > Taskbar > Note icon. New Task Notes (red) notification cannot be disabled.
  • Add a new Note and/or close the dialog via the X on top right or via back-arrow on top left

    It is possible to activate email notifications for Notes added to Resource's assignments/Tasks.
